Andrew ThomsonAthlete Advisor, Personal Stability and Wellbeing Team

    Andrew is a former professional footballer. His career spanned eighteen years with appearances in over 350 first team games playing for Swindon Town FC, Portsmouth FC, Bristol Rovers FC and Wycombe Wanderers FC. In addition to a successful playing career Andrew occupied the role of Club and Team Captain at Bristol Rovers, and has had vast media experience including writing his own newspaper column, co-commentary for live games on the radio, and a regular TV guest on ITV West’s Soccer Night programme. Although Andrew has a wealth of experience playing at a high level he is currently working on underpinning this with a Certificate in Counselling and a Diploma in Sports Mentoring and Coaching. Andrew is currently a board member of Set4Success, a charity that recognises and rewards young sporting talent.
